Reach for the Stars Mariner's Compass Quilts book by Bear Paw Productions, authored by Brenda Henning, is required to take the Mariner's Compass class.

Students will be able to pick and choose any mariner's compass blocks from Reach for the Stars book mentioned make in class. There are easy, intermediate and addvanced mariner blocks to choose from and many different projects from wall hanging to bed size to utilize the blocks made.

Topics covered in class will be fabric selection, foundation paper piecing, curved piecing, and hand applique. This class is an advanced foundation paper piecing project.

With Just 9 fat quarters, you can make this charming beginner quilt top. Any color scheme can be used to achieve the "woven" look of the pattern to make this a masculine or feminine quilt. There are only 3 pieces in the basic block and it is a great learning quilt. This basic class will cover quilting materials and supplies, rotary cutting techniques, piecing techniques, and basic machine quilting.
