Western fabrics are a unique part of Prairie Girls’ Quilt Shop.  Western fabrics gained popularity in the 1950’s. The interest in western fabrics has continued to grow.  Prairie Girls’ Quilt Shop specializes in classic western fabrics, featuring a variety of western fabric designs and patterns.  Western fabrics can be used for quilting, clothing and home décor. 

The fiber content in western fabrics varies.  Western fabrics that are used for quilting and clothing generally are 100% cotton.  There are some western fabrics that come on 54” to 108” goods that are used for home dec.  Another type of western fabric that is used for home dec, is western tapestry, which has a variety of man made fibers.  Faux leather and faux animal fur have recently been introduced into the western fabric world.  These faux leather and faux furs are made from synthetic fibers.
